BlockyTalky: A Prototyping Toolkit for Digital Musical Interfaces

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

NOTE:  BRING YOUR OWN LAPTOP!
This hands-on workshop invites participants to prototype a digital musical interface using a computer music toolkit called BlockyTalky. BlockyTalky affords rapid prototyping of tangible interfaces and interoperates with other creative computing tools through OSC. We will experiment with BlockyTalky as a prototyping tool for designers, artists, and engineers who want to quickly build “proof of concept” systems for musical expression without the need for complex circuitry and fabrication. Participants will have the opportunity to design interfaces with a variety of sensors, program the logic for their systems, and connect their BlockyTalky devices to external programs such as music and visual arts software via OSC.
